One continuouslyunpleasant problem facing second-language teachers is that of students’language errors. We cannot deny their prevalence, although teachers try toremove these errors, but in vain, whether they struggle to eliminate themthrough teaching grammar rules or through drilling new linguistic habits. Thisreality of language errors by learners frustrates students and teachers alike. http://www.paper51.com
Since errors areinevitable in language acquisition, then the questions become: To correct themor not to? When to correct and how to correct? These are questions that both linguistsand teachers should consider. Some may suggest correcting all errors as soon asthey appear. Others would insist on finding out ways to help students improvetheir language competence through error analysis based on these languageerrors. The second suggestion seems to be a good way of language error analysisin junior English, and it is worthy of being studied according to differentlanguage errors. To some extent, language error analysis serves as anunderstanding bridge between English teachers and English teaching. paper51.com
This paper, based on psychological studies and significanceof error analysis, analyses mainly the causes of errors, the differencesbetween an error and a mistake, the procedure of error analysis, the attitudeteachers should hold toward students’ errors and the policies teachers shouldadopt when such errors are made. copyright paper51.com 2 Errors, Mistakes and ErrorAnalysis paper51.com Error analysis, as the term suggests, is the study andanalysis of errors made by second- language learners and is confined to thelanguage learners (Hu Zhuangling, 2001). However, here “error” refers generallyto the learner’s misuse or misunderstanding of the target language, may it begrammatical or pragmatic. 内容来自论文无忧网 www.paper51.com |
