Introduction 内容来自www.paper51.com Inthe long history of human development process, the pet’s vocabularies have beenkeeping close relationship with human being. This kind of intimate relationshipto pets makes mankind produce complicated emotions such as love, compassion, disgust and fear. People often borrow from pets to consign and express humanfeelings, or entertain. Anyhow, the pets become an important part of humanculture both in Chinese culture and English culture. They treat pets as theirfriends. The children could treat the pets equally and friendly as well, andget on well with them. More and more people begin to have pets in real life, whichalso show pets and human's relations become harmonious. There are many Chineseand English vocabularies which are related to pets, such kinds of vocabulary reflectthe cultural differences, and are affected by the development of history, customs, values, religious belief and other aspects of cultural factors. Moreover both English and Chinese speaking countries have their own specialcultural connotations, the connotations of pet's vocabulary of the bothcultures are similar sometimes, because of the different history and culture, the connotations of pet’s vocabularies in Chinese do not necessarily coincidewith those in English. For example, for both Chinese and English speakingpeople swan stands for gracefulness and nobility, and people consider the snakeis slithery and harmful in both culture. However, Chinese culture and theculture of English speaking people are different sometimes. For example, mostChinese think the dog stands for faithfulness but most English speaking peoplethink the dog’s first quality is friendship. Chinese think the rabbit stands fortimidity, but English speaking people deem it as attractive and to them thechicken stands for timidity while many Chinese think the chicken suggests a lowclass prostitute. 内容来自www.paper51.com
