Listening is one of the important skills in English languagecommunication. Of the four neededskills in communication, that is, listening, speaking, reading, and writing, listeningis the most used. We can say thatlistening can help to improve students’ understanding of a language. Besides, “statistics show that nearly50% students regard listening comprehension as one of the most difficult partamong all kinds of examination” (Ren, 2001: 39). Therefore, the English listeningcomprehension for senior high school students is strongly advocated.
