However, with deeper developmentof reform and opening up, education was elevated to an unprecedented level, andsyllabus couldn’t meet the need of English teaching so that it was replaced bycurriculum. Basing on curriculum in 2001, new curriculum was proposed in 2003and carried out effectively. Now, everybody in the field of compulsoryeducation has gotten familiar with the word “curriculum”. The new curriculummainly covers four grades—from six to nine grade in senior schools andstipulates its specific goals. According to its goals, it is required tocultivate effective method of English learning. In fact, since new curriculumwas issued, many specialists have further studied English teaching and learningmethod in different stages—from elementary school to senior school. However,different persons’ views vary.
