Thinking thattheir mastering hundreds of thousands of vocabularies or being able to getperfect grades in exams mean mastering the language, even graduates with CET4 orCET6 certificate always feel embarrassed while commutating with foreignfriends. That is，what they have learned is just some correct forms, but not properEnglish, that is pragmatic failure. In the communication course,misunderstanding is not the sentences meaning but the speaking meaning. It isnotable that most of the misunderstanding is not due to any inability to hearpeople or to parse their sentences or to understand their words. A far moreimportant source of difficulty in communication is that we so often fail tounderstand a speaker’s intention. (Miller, 1974) According to this, the preciseunderstanding of speaker meaning is the vital part of a successfulcommunication, or else the pragmatic failure or communication failure willhappen.
