浅谈如何提高英语口语能力

摘  要

语言本身是用来表达实用意义的工具。新时代的中国英语教育目标强调了英语综合应用能力的要求。其中,口语能力对于许多学生来说,一直是一项难于攻克的内容,其主要表现在思维方式和社会语言文化环境方面的问题。因此,本文就英语口语表达的流利性和准确性两个方面,着重分析了影响提高我们口语能力的主要障碍。与此同时,文章浅析了英语思维和文化差异在口语中的重要性,并在此基础上具体地尝试提出了一些可行的方法,诣在通过不断的练习,逐步减少口语表达障碍,进而提高英语口语能力。

Itis well known that the final goal of language learning is the languageapplication. Meanwhile, oral English capacity has been considered as the mostimportant and basic requirement in language application. So what is the idealoral English?as Hartman states that “ifone can use language structure accurately and pays attention to his contextrather than its language style, then speak out the language at normal speedwithout thinking its language structure, that means he can reach an spoken languagefluently” (Jeremy, 1994). That is, to speak idiomatic and nature English, youare asked to gain accurate English structures and fluent grade. Judging fromabove, it is obvious that the basic requirement of oral English is to reachaccuracy and fluency. In foreign language education in China we concentrate too much onlearning English knowledge but ignore to develop students English skills and applicationability. In that case, there still appears many problems in our daily communicationby using English, such as comprehension difficulties, a breakdown orgrammatical mistakes of communication. Take Chinglish for example, when we comeacross “sleep late,” Chinese students always understand according to itsliterate meaning and Chinese structure. Consequently they misunderstand it as “stayup late or go to bed late”. To sum up, Chinese students are confronted withsuch ever-lasting problem, so the cultivations of oral English competence shouldbe focused on oral fluency and accuracy. In the following parts, it attemptedto illustrate the misunderstanding essentially due to the cultural differencesand ways of thinking. Correspondingly, it is suggested finally that building upthe English thinking way and strengthening up English input could be thefeasible techniques. paper51.com
