英语专业大二学生写作中衔接与连贯的问题研究

摘 要

   无论是在学习还是生活中,英语写作都变得越来越重要,而它本身又是一项复杂的工作。因此,中国学生的英文写作一直以来都为许多中外英语教师所关注。对中国学生而言,一个明显的困难就是克服英语作文中的衔接和连贯问题。此研究是针对某某师范学院外语学院英语专业二年级学生写作中衔接与连贯问题的调查。文章以30名英语专业二年级学生的英语作文为样本,分析了学生作文中的衔接与连贯问题,提出了相应的措施,以期提高英语专业写作教学和学生的写作水平。 paper51.com

Nowadays,writing, especially English writing has been used as a mean of transmittingscience and the latest information. Therefore, people in the educationalcircles widely think much of writing. There are statistics showing that mostuniversities in Chinaattach importance to students’ English writing.(Liu Shangfu,1998)In fact, Englishsyllabuses have made the relevant stipulation for students’ abilities ofwriting. In 1983, a survey about the graduates in Shanghai CommunicationsUniversity showed that 25.14% technical men were required to write articles inEnglish in their jobs(Liu Shangfu,1998). As is known to all thatamong the “four basic skills” (i.e., reading, listening, speaking and writing)in English learning, writing plays a more and more significant role for Englishlearners. In various kinds of English tests, writing usuallytakes up a large percentage of total points, especially for the English majors.Take the TEM4 and TEM8 for examples: in TEM4, writing is made up of two parts. Oneis a composition which takes up 15 points; the other is a note-writing whichhas 10 points, together ranking 1/4 of its total scores. While in TEM8, writinghas a percentage of 20 in thetotal score. It is believed, to some degree, that English writing abilities reflectthe English level of an English learner. However, writing is a complex activity whosecomponents and sub-components involve actions at a number of levels, requiringproficiency in several areas of skill and knowledge (Archibald & Jeffery,2000). The complexity of mastering writing skills for English writers iscompounded by the difficulties inherent in learning a foreign language.
